Angel Rich: Empowering Financial Literacy and Diversity in Tech

Angel Rich is an innovator in the fields of financial literacy and technology, known for her visionary work through Wealth Factory and Black Tech Matters. In 2014, Angel Rich left her role as a global market research analyst at Prudential Financial to embark on a mission to transform financial education. She founded Wealth Factory with the aim of addressing a pressing global issue: the lack of financial literacy. Her approach was innovative and engaging, using technology and games as vehicles for teaching essential financial skills. The goal was clear - to combat poverty by providing accessible and affordable financial education. Wealth Factory's platform, offering online games and adaptive testing, has been a resounding success, attracting approximately 400,000 users from 60 countries who can access content in 21 languages. This remarkable reach underscores the universal demand for financial knowledge and the effectiveness of Rich's approach.

However, Angel Rich's impact extends beyond financial literacy. In 2016, she founded Black Tech Matters, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusivity within STEM fields. Recognizing the importance of representation and opportunities for underrepresented communities in tech, Rich established this organization as a catalyst for change. Black Tech Matters focuses on building relationships and partnerships among companies, nonprofits, governments, K-12 schools, and historically Black colleges and universities. By nurturing these connections, the organization works to break down barriers and create pathways for Black individuals to thrive in STEM disciplines.

Angel Rich's journey is an inspiring testament to her dedication to making a positive impact on the world. Through Wealth Factory, she empowers individuals with the knowledge to secure their financial future, and through Black Tech Matters, she champions diversity and inclusivity in industries pivotal to our technological advancement. Her work serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that through innovation, education, and collaboration, we can build a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
